July 2011 - London, Ontario – Trudell Medical Marketing Limited - Introducing Vapotherm"s® Insolare™ Infant Nasal Cannula, available in Canada from Trudell Medical Marketing Limited.
Vapotherm®, a leading innovator of high flow oxygen therapy takes the technology of optimizing gas conditioning to a new level with the launch of Insolare™ infant nasal cannula, for use with their high flow technology, Precision Flow®.
A traditional cannula has the greatest heat loss and condensation at the lowest of flows. At low flow rates, gas that passes through the lumen of the cannula cools down, causing the vapor to condense. By accelerating the flow through the nasal cannula, it reduces the residence time and reduces the opportunity for temperature to decrease and rainout to occur.
Insolare™ infant nasal cannula utilizes a patent pending design to minimize heat loss and rainout while improving safety and performance at lower flow rates. The gas accelerates through the tubing by blocking the flow through one of the two supply tubes passing through the nasal prongs. Both nasal prongs are supplied with gas. The difference is only one side of supply tubes to both prongs supplies the gas. The Insolare™ SOLO™ is a single prong infant nasal cannula that was designed for infants that require high flow therapy and have one nare utilized for nasogastric tubes or feeding tubes.
The key benefits of Insolare™ infant nasal cannula are: reduced heat loss and condensation, the prongs sized to maintain an open system, and they are engineered to optimize patient comfort.
The new line of Insolare™ and Insolare™ SOLO™ is an extension of Vapotherm"s high flow therapy nasal cannula for use with Precision Flow®, and offers additional benefits for infant patients (up to 24 months) that require low flow rates.
In October of 2009, Trudell Medical Marketing Limited forged a partnership with Vapotherm® with the goal of bringing Precision Flow® to patients in Canada. Trudell Medical Marketing Limited and Vapotherm® are committed to improving patient comfort and patient outcomes.
